About Ma

Ma receiving sacred Shipibo kené face paint from her teacher

Tonon Kano · Chonon Quena

Ma, known ceremonially as Tonon Kano (She Who Walks the Luminous Path) and Chonon Quena ("The woman whose call carries the medicine of the swallow, a messenger between worlds"), is rooted in the ancient traditions of the Peruvian Amazon. Trained in the Shipibo-Conibo lineage, she has apprenticed through master plant dietas, íkaros (healing songs), and sacred ceremony under the guidance of Shipibo maestras and maestros.

For more than two decades, Ma has devoted her life to the healing arts, guiding individuals through plant dietas, ceremonies, retreats, and apprenticeship programs. She has created and led ceremonies across Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Indonesia, sharing her medicine with diverse communities around the world.

Ma's work weaves plant-spirit healing, prayer, ritual, and grounded integration, offering a bridge between ancestral wisdom and the needs of the modern spirit. She leads retreats in the Amazon and creates sacred spaces where healing, alignment, and inner evolution can unfold with devotion, compassion, and the intelligence of the unseen.
