In the Peruvian Amazon, in the region of Ucayali, lives a population who are the guardians of sacred knowledge of the holy jungle, its kingdom, and medicinal plants.

For millennia, the Shipibo-Conibo people have kept a relationship with nature’s spirits, creating a link between the spiritual and the existential.

According to tradition, one or several persons in the local community are responsible for the communication between the material world and the spiritual worlds, where plants, animals, and ancestral spirits unite.

These people are called “Onaya” or “Mwëraya,” a shaman, a healer, calling on the spirits. They travel in the invisible; their knowledge is ancient; they link the physical and the spiritual worlds. Ma/Chonon Quena has had the privilege to learn in the Shipibo Shamanic tradition starting in 2007 from one of the last Grand Maestros alive in our time, “Kestenbetsa” as studying under Maestro Richardo, Maestro Antonio, and Maestra Rosa.

She has devoted her life to the shamanic path and held seminars worldwide to help people heal physically, mentally, energetically, and spiritually.

She also guides and opens extended master plant diets to clean, heal, and teach the art of walking this path.

Plants guide us on the path to self-realization and for deeper healing. The means to acquire knowledge in a shamanic way is through a dieta.

For this to occur, the shaman, who is the bridge between the spiritual world and the physical plane, opens an intentional connection between the person and the spirit of the plant or the energy and its realms.

This is done by a sacred chant, called ikaro. This connection will stay open with a specific purpose for a certain period of time.

There are two types of dietas;

The Healing dietas for illnesses, emotional patterns, traumas, etc and there are Apprentice dietas for learning this healing art.

A diet requires great discipline, and there are strict rules to follow. If the rules are broken, there are consequences of different measures. The seriousness depends on several factors, including which plant is utilized and which rules were broken. One’s personal vibration plays a vital role too.

The incredible power of a dieta is to witness, experience, and communicate with the unseen. Through this process, you face yourself and work through that which no longer serves you.

When the energy or the spirit of the plant merges with your consciousness, it expands into this space, forcing lower vibrations out of your system. These vibrations may be old behaviors, feelings, patterns, etc. It may be very challenging, and it is of utmost importance to have the self-awareness to reflect, assess, and be present in all of the forms this work takes. You must be aware of the signs and information coming to you in this process, such as intuition, dreams, hypersensitivity, psychic awareness, and change of perception - to name a few.

Ultimately, one of the essential disciplines of dieting is isolation. Traditionally the dieta is done in the jungle with little to no contact with others. Food and water would be brought to the dieter. In the ancient ways, they would eat what the spirits brought them.

In my own life and experience, the practice of discipline has been one of the most valuable tools for my personal and spiritual growth.

DIETA

I offer to open diets for a period of 3, 6 and 12 months. This journey starts at three months after that you may be able to do a 6 month long dieta and finally, an apprentice diet which is 1year long. It is not only the time that matters but the quality of your participation, emotional balance, keeping the restrictions of the diet and using the shamanic tools throughout the defined period.

Restrictions

  • Any alcohol or other drugs (cannabis included)

  • Any dairy

  • Citrus fruits

  • Read meat and no pork for life

  • Shellfish, any ocean fish

  • Flavored foods, salt, condiments, spicy foods, garlic, all types of onions

  • Fried foods, fatty foods, butter

  • Sex (yes, really!)

Exercise your food intuition, ask and listen/feel closely.

Sexual abstinence is absolutely required in all shapes and forms (yes even dreaming, which you learn to control with time). Selective exposure to TV, reading material and human touch, such as hugs, handshakes, massage, haircuts etc. The restrictions are necessary to maintain your energy.

The same time frame dietas may be done multiple times, with the same plant/energy or a different plant/s.

If you wish a for a personalized dieta you may contact me for a consultation.

Committing yourself to the rules and restrictions is how you will get clarity on your attachments. This discipline will permit growth and expansion. You will experience growth in your abilities, capabilities and understandings, etc. You will expand your state of awareness, lucid dreaming, psychic senses, and intuition, etc.

During the diet layers of transparency will be revealed. The first layer of transparency will reveal itself through the absence of salt and sugar – unless this is apart of your normal diet. The second layer comes through the privation of one’s sexual energy.

Although the neediness of certain elements may be strong and their removal will be challenging, it is with great benefits. It is beneficial to experience how foods impact our way of being.

When we allow our physical body to face our habits, big or small, we are given a cherished opportunity to make decisions from a place of transparency. You will find that following a shamanic diet brings accessibility in your being for new experiences beyond ordinary.

My calling to learn the Shipibo-Conibo Shamanic ways was profound, my inner compass led me to embark on this life-changing journey that transformed my life. This initiation has allowed for my awakening and progressed my perseverance to cultivate simplicity and love.
